Hey, guys, so today's video is about how to fix orange hair.
And this is something that I get asked all the time because I have a lot of hair toning videos.
But I realized that all of those videos are really meant for people with just like brassy already bright blonde hair.
I've had my fair share of orange hair disasters, insert photos here actually didn't mind having orange hair when I accidentally dyed it orange.
I just kind of like went with it for a while while my hair was like healing and kind of just made it seem like it was on purpose.
That is an option as well.
But um, without further ado let's get into the three different ways that you can banish orange hair, not yellow, not brassy light blonde, but actual orange hair.
So the first method is only if you want to be like as light as blonde as me, for example, so let's say, you had dark hair, you tried to lighten, it it's gone orange.
But what you were going for was a light blonde, maybe something like what I have you first must lighten it again and then tone it.
So to do that, I would recommend just using a 20 volume developer with powder bleach to get you to a lighter yellow color.
So if you only get to a yellow stage, then I would recommend the wallet t28.
If you happen to get to a very very pastel yellow, or something like mine, then feel free to use the t18, the t10, the t11 or anything like that.
So the second way to get rid of orange hair is if you don't care about being really light blonde, you just want to neutralize the brassiness.
So basically what you have to do is just tone that color so you're, not going to be lightening.
It you're just going to be toning it.
I get asked this question so much.
Why didn't the wella t18 work on my orange hair? And that is because it is not meant to t18 like I said, is only meant for very very already light blonde.
It does fairly anything to orange hair.
So what you need to do to tone your orange hair is to put a demi-permanent color on top.
That is the same level of hair that you have currently often times with orange hair you're at a level, six to a level seven.
So at that point, you would put a level, six or seven, demi permanent hair, color on top of your hair.
It will not change the actual lightness or darkness of your hair, it's just going to neutralize the brassiness.
So what you want to do is pick like if you have a level 7, orange hair, pick a level 7, ash tone or cool, toned, demi, permanent, hair, color on top.
There are toners that are meant for kind of darker hair.
Wella has one.
I believe wella t35 and well at t27 are meant for like medium blonde.
So if you're kind of on the more goldy orange, then you could try those if you are like straight up orange, then I would definitely go for the demi permanent hair color, because it is going to have a little bit more coverage.
This method can really be applied to any level of hair like if you have like a gold color, then your hair is probably more like a level, seven eight.
So then you would put a level seven or eight ash or blue tone color on top of that.
If you are a level nine, which is a yellow.
You can use the well at t28 or a level, nine, demi, permanent, um.
If you have level 10 like like what I would have right now, then you can put a level, 10, demi, permanent on, or any of the wella toners we'll.
Take on level 10 here.
And the third way which is kind of similar to the second way.
But the third way is, of course, just cover it up.
You can use semi-permanent hair colors.
You can use demi permanent hair colors.
You could probably use permanent hair colors as long as it's darker than the orange that you have.
And of course, general tips would be if you're trying to counteract orange.
You have to use something with the opposite color base.
So something that is blue toned or ash tone, that's really going to help eliminate the really brassy tones.
And of course, like I said, a million times well, a t18 t10 t11, all of those toners from willa will not work on orange hair.
They are meant for hair, color, that's already about my level, at least if you have kind of light brown hair right now, but it kind of shines like red or orange in the light and that's kind of annoying.
Another thing that you can do is put a gray or silver, semi-permanent hair, color, semi-permanent hair, colors, do not need developer they're.
Just kind of like a stain like the manic panic joyco.
K.
Pack has the semi-permanent line.
Ion color, brilliance has a semi-permanent line.
You can put a gray or silver color on top of your brassy like light, brown hair.
And that will make it shine more silvery in the light to make more cool tone.
I have a video on that that I will link down below if you're interested if you have a combination of yellow and orange tones, then I would recommend evening it out.
So whether that is putting the demi permanent color on top or putting a darker color on top, um, just to make it all the same color, or if you want to be all over the yellow color, but you've got like maybe light yellow up here but orange down here.
Then I would recommend just applying bleach to the orange part, leaving the yellow parts alone.
And then hopefully they kind of even out.
And then you can apply a toner or demi, permanent color on top of that.
Anyway, guys, that is the end of this video.
I hope you enjoyed.
I have tons of other videos on toners and and videos of me, dyeing my hair.
So you can check those out if you'd like, thank you so much for watching I'll see you in the next one bye.
