Christopher Briney is an American actor best known for Under the Covers (2018), Want This (2020), and Dalíland (2022). He rose to fame for his roles in the Amazon Prime Video series The Summer I Turned Pretty (2022).
In 2015, Briney completed a five-week intensive theater program at Wesleyan University in addition to attending Waterbury Arts Magnet School. He then relocated to New York City in 2016 to enroll at Pace University. In 2020, he received his BFA in acting. He was employed by Trader Joe’s on Manhattan’s Lower East Side while he was a student. Director Mary Harron found the then-unknown Briney and cast her in the biographical film Dalíland in 2021.
Before Dalíland production started, he had handed in an audition tape for The Summer I Turned Pretty. He did a chemistry read over Zoom while filming Dalíland in Liverpool and got a callback. Lola Tung and Gavin Casalegno, who costarred with Briney in The Summer I Turned Pretty, presented at the MTV Movie & TV Awards in 2023. Briney is set to play Aaron Samuels in the Mean Girls: The Musical movie, which Paramount Pictures is producing in 2024.
